Hey fashionistas! I hope all is well. I've decided to venture into doing beauty posts. If you follow me on IG, you will mostly see fashion, which is my first love. But, I do post some beauty from time to time. My favorite look is a natural beat. I love simplicity when it comes my makeup, but I will rock a smokey eye every once in a while.
Today, it's all about my must-have beauty products. If y'all knew how much I've spent on makeup, you would be shocked. Over the years, I've learned so much about makeup and I have to admit I love this stuff!! I have a mixture of high-end and drugstore products and I love them both the same. All the products will be linked below. Ok! Let's get down to it.
A good primer is a necessity! A good moisturizer and primer is pretty much the base to a slayed makeup look. My go-to primers are Becca Matte Primer and Fenty Beauty Matte Primer. These are definitely my faves right now especially since I have oily skin. It definitely gives me a blurred base for my makeup. FYI: Becca has decided to discontinue their products as of Sept 2021. You can find the remaining products online.
Let's get to the foundation! With me being a dark-skin girl, it was very hard at first finding foundations. Not only a product that caters to my skin type, but also my deep complexion. Before, beauty brands only had a hand full of tones to work with. My tone normally wasn't in the list. MAC was one of my first foundations I've tried and to this day I still wear it. Once I got older, more and more brands became diverse so I started experimenting and came to find some foundations I really loved. I have a mixture of high-end and drug store brands and these are my favorites:MAC -The Studio Fix Tech Foundation, Fenty Soft Matte Liquid Foundation, and Maybelline Fit Me Matte Poreless Liquid Foundation.
Tinted moisturizer is one product I'm new too and I recently tried it out this summer. I recently went to Jamaica back in July and I was looking for a product I could wear and still look flawless, but also protect my skin from the rays. I looked at few brands online and came across Laura Mercier Oil Free Tinted Mosturizer. I ordered the mini size just try it out and I fell in love. I wore it the rest of the summer. It definitely gave me a skin finish and was very lightweight.
One word:Concealer. I definitely gotta have this product. I have dark eye circles, so it's a necessity for me. I have 3 brands I normally wear and abide by and they are LA Girl Pro.Conceal, Fenty Beauty , and NYX Can't Stop Won't Stop. They are definitely full coverage concealers.
Of course if you use concealer, you must have a good setting powder to make sure it doesn't move. I have 2 favorites I use and they are on the high-end spectrum.. Fenty Beauty and Laura Mercier both provide excellent setting powders and there is no flashback in photos from these. I haven't find a drug store powder that suits me just yet. If yall have any suggestions, please let me know.
Moving on to brow products, my brows are my holy grail. I love the thickness of them, but unfortunately I don't have a brow tail lol. It's fine because I use some amazing Brow products. My favorites so far are Fenty's Brow Pencil, Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow and pencil, and also Michele Sherie's MSB 2N1 Brow Pencil. I love all three equally and they definitely get the job done.
As for Mascara, I've tried high-end and drug store versions, but the MAC In Extreme Dimension 3D Black Lash Mascara is definitely my favorite right now. If there's a dupe for it, I will definitely try it.
Highlighting is one of my favorite things to do when it comes to my makeup and sometimes I do tend to go a little overboard😁. I love when I take photos using sunlight because it definitely makes my skin glow even more. My go to highlighters right now are Huda Beauty and MSB( Michele Sherie Beauty) highlighters.
It's the finale! Ladies, you need to top off that gorgeous look with setting spray! This will keep you from melting while dancing away in that new club or looking good on the beach. My favorite setting sprays are Morphe Continuous Setting and Mist and Urban Decay's All Nighter setting spray. They definitely keep my look in tact.
Well yall! This is my list of my must-have beauty products! Let me know what are your faves. I'm so open to trying new things so let me know what's your fave go to products. If you all think I should do more beauty blogs, let me know below! TTYL and Stay Fabulous!
